Why do sports always catch on fire after they crash?

After Ryan Dunn crash with the 911 gt3, I've notice a lot more like Lambos, Ferrari's, and other super cars burst into flames when they crash. Why? Especially if the engine is in the back, And I thought they built components inside the engine bay to avoid or stop the engine from catching fire?
